Farmhouse Coffee Bar Styled for Fall

Who doesn't need a good cup of coffee (or two) to get their day started? I know I do, and until that warm caffeine hits my lips my morning just isn't complete. My love for coffee runs so deep that I dedicated an entire area in my kitchen to a 'Coffee Bar' area.

Today I'm going to share with you how I incorporate fall decor into my Coffee Bar area. One of my favorite things about this space is being able to decorate it for every holiday and/or season.  I have several staple pieces that I usually keep in the same place and incorporate interchangeable decor around them.

Staple Pieces

  • My first staple piece is this rack from World Market. I love this item because I can display extra mugs based on the theme I am going with. For this Fall inspired coffee bar I decided to do orange and buffalo check mugs.
  • My other staple pieces include my Rae Dunn Canisters, RD Teapot, RD Cream and Sugar holders, RD trays, and RD mugs on top of the cake stand that sit on top of the shelf. To keep the shelf balanced, I follow the 'Rule of Three' for both ends. (In relevance to decorating: The Rule of Three means that objects look better in a group of odd numbers ie: 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. Items that are arranged in odd numbers are more appealing to the eye than an even number of objects grouped together) I also keep my grandmother's old cutting board and a small boxwood wreath on the shelf as well.

Now that we've gone over the Staple Pieces, let's get started on the fun part!

I always start decorating by laying out the items I have out in front of me. It helps me visualize everything before I start placing it. Once I lay everything out, my first step to decorating this area is to lay down a table runner. Layers and texture are what make an area feel cozy and inviting. I picked up this buffalo check table runner from Hobby Lobby last Fall. (I liked it because of its' versatility for being used at any point during the year, but buffalo check screams Fall and/or Winter to me most of all)

Next, I laid down my greenery over the table
runner. I previously purchased this garland on Amazon several years ago. It's is a bit on the skimpy side, so I usually add extra pics and greenery into it to fill it out. I picked up four of these orange Eucalyptus pics for 50% off from Hobby Lobby. I loved the hue of orange and thought they would look pretty against the green of the garland.

I also grabbed the white artichoke candles and thankful wooden word cut out Hobby Lobby. I placed one candle on each side of the Coffee Bar and the Thankful sign in the middle. I added some RD mugs, buffalo check mugs from Hobby Lobby and plain orange mugs from The Dollar Tree.

I had stir sticks from the Target Dollar Spot from last year, so I popped them into a mason jar and put them next to the coffee maker. I also have a cute pig soup cup that I use as a spoon holder that I placed some acorns in. I also added some ceramic white pumpkins to the bottom shelves next to my canisters and baskets. Once I was satisfied with the placement of everything I hung up the Pumpkin Sign from Joann's Fabrics on the wall with two clear Command Hooks.

I purchased eight white mugs from the Dollar Tree earlier in the year. I loved the shape of them and the detail around the rim. My favorite apart them though was that they only cost $1.00 each and can be used any time during the year. I hung each of them up and moved onto the top of the shelf.

I didn't have much to fill in on the shelf since most of my staple pieces are there. I picked up these pine cone pics came from Joanns with the thought that I could use them for Fall and upcoming Winter decor (plus they were 70% off!). I stuck one at each end of the top of the shelf for some texture. I took 6 mason jars and grouped them into threes (remember, the Rule of Three!) Although the blue isn't necessarily a Fall color, these mason jars belonged to both of my grandpas and they hold a special place in my heart.
I had several of the orange Eucalyptus pics left so I popped them in and added my fabric pumpkins in from Joanns Fabrics.

And there you have it... a Fall Farmhouse Coffee Bar. I hope this inspires you to want to have a coffee area of your own to decorate for the seasons/holidays.
