Laundry Area Update with Tic Tac Tiles

Our downstairs renovation began in the Summer of 2017 and after two and a half years it is finally coming together. The purchase of our fixer upper home in 2012 was not for the faint of heart. It needed a TON of work and still continues to be a labor of love. It has been rewarding, fun and challenging to turn our house turn into a home

This is what our downstairs looked like when we first purchased our home in January 2012. As you can see, the walls were covered in wood paneling and the floors with orange shag carpet. Not pictured is the yellow tiled bathroom that had pink appliances and only a washer inside of it. Whoever had originally designed our home had placed the washer in the bathroom and the dryer in the far corner of the basement. (One of our first purchases for our home was a new washer and dryer after the washer had given out during a load of laundry and flooded the entire basement, what a fiasco that was!)

When we decided to take the plunge and completely gut the downstairs there were a lot of changes that needed to be made. With the help of my dad and one of my husband's friends, they were able to move plumbing around and box out a laundry area for our washer and dryer. I was so excited to have a space that would have the washer and dryer next to each other and that could be hidden behind doors when we have company over.

Fast forward through several more months of construction and my laundry room was functional, put together, and decorated. As happy I was with the way it turned out, I still felt like something was missing.

I wanted to add something to the walls to finish off this space and that is when I decided to reach out to Tic Tac Tiles to see if they would be interested in working with me. Within several hours of e-mailing Tic Tac Ties, one of their representatives contacted me and graciously offered to sponsor my project.

Tic Tac Tiles are self adhesive, easy to install, and have a big impact on the area they are applied to. For my project, I decided on the the 12"x12" Peel and Stick Subway Tiles. Tic Tac Tiles are available for order through their website or Amazon & ship quickly through both sites. My tiles arrived in the mail within 2 days of purchase, and when I opened up the box I couldn't believe how realistic they looked.

Each box came with ten 12"x12" sheets inside of it. The installation process was simple and straight forward. The tiles were easy to cut with my Exacto knife and stuck to my walls with ease.  (If you don't have an Exacto knife you can also use a pair of scissors) Each tile piece is forgiving as well if you need to readjust them for any reason while installing. (See the easy installation process on my Tic Tac Tiles story highlight on my Instagram page @thesenecahouse)

I am over the moon with the final outcome of my laundry area using Tic Tac Tiles and would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to make a big impact on a space with ease!
